The Red Wings host the Calgary Flames tonight in Jiri Hudler's return to Detroit after signing with Calgary as a free agent over the summer.
Former Flame Ian White returns to the Red Wings' lineup to replace the injured Brendan Smith on the blue line. White hasn't played since suffering a deep cut to his leg in the home opener on January 22. Smith, meanwhile, suffered a shoulder sprain on Saturday in Columbus that's expected to keep him out for up to a month.
Also new to the lineup is Tomas Tatar, who's been called up from the Grand Rapids Griffins to take a spot on the second line with Pavel Datsyuk and Valtteri Filppula. The move slides Todd Bertuzzi back to the third line and Patrick Eaves out of the lineup.
Petr Mrazek is also up from the Griffins and will back up Jimmy Howard, with Tom McCollum having been sent back to Grand Rapids.
Game time is 7:30 PM on FSD.
