One night after a shootout win in Columbus, the Red Wings will have their home opener tonight against the Dallas Stars.
Like last night, the team is reeling from injuries, especially on the blue line. Darren Helm, Todd Bertuzzi, Jan Mursak, Mikael Samuelsson, Jonathan Ericsson, Jakub Kindl, Carlo Colaiacovo, and Jonas Gustavsson are all hurt and will be unavailable tonight. Gustav Nyquist was called up from Grand Rapids to play on the second line in place of Samuelsson and Tom McCollum will remain with the team to back up Jimmy Howard.
To help with the decimated blue line, veteran defenseman Kent Huskins was signed today and is expected to be in the lineup tonight.
Game time is 7:30 PM on FSD, though some pre-game festivities are expected.
