You know those trap games I'm always talking about? The ones where I worry the Red Wings see an easy opponent and favorable conditions and start looking past them? Yeah, tonight's game terrifies me.

The Red Wings are riding a 15-game home winning streak and are battling for the top spot in the league (though they sit fourth in the Western Conference due to the Central Division being a monster this season). The Blue Jackets are a laughingstock that just signed Brett Lebda. Yet I can totally see Columbus pulling off the upset tonight.

Half of Columbus' lineup is out and they're starting supposed backup Curtis Sanford. Aside from Patrick Eaves, the Red Wings are healthy and their only lineup change is to swap in Mike Commodore for Jakub Kindl. Jimmy Howard gets the start.

Game time is 7:00 on FS+.

Weak first period. The guys look tired and need to snap out of it before they lose to the worst team in the league. I blame the first goal solely on Jimmy as he bobbled a puck he should have caught.

Big, big kill. Penalty was interesting. Cracking down on things along the endboards this season but that wasn't much of a push.
