The Red Wings wrap up their five-game homestand tonight, hosting the St. Louis Blues.

Joey MacDonald gets a second consecutive start with Jimmy Howard still recovering from a shoulder injury. Howard is expected to go on Saturday in Nashville.

Ruslan Salei is back in the press box, swapping out with Jakub Kindl on the blue line. Drew Miller is back in up front with Kris Draper out up front.

Game time is 7:30. I'll miss a lot of this one but should catch the start and end.

I knew I broke out the new Modano jersey today for a reason. Great shot on the rebound.

I had to leave during the first period when the Red Wings were up 1-0. Came back near the end of the game. Immediately deleted it off the DVR.

I don't need to know what happened and I don't want to know. The 10-3 final score is enough.

The Red Wings, however, don't have the luxury of ignoring it that I do. That kind of loss to a St. Louis team that's already been eliminated from the playoffs is unacceptable, especially with five games remaining in the season. The team has to look at this game, figure out what went wrong, and fix it.

That kind of score doesn't come from not getting the bounces. It comes from systemic failure. Things happened that shouldn't have happened. If they don't treat this loss at the end of March as a learning experience, they won't be playing at the end of April.
