Damned West Coast trips. I've gotta be at the office early tomorrow, tonight's game is gonna kill me.

Mule in Detroit to celebrate the birth of his first kid so Miller makes it back in the lineup. Rafalski's still dealing with back spasms so Kindl stays on the blue line.

The Kings traded for Dustin Penner but I don't know if he's in the lineup tonight.

That's all I've got. I need a nap before the game starts.

Well, I get to watch the VS feed, courtesy of AFN. At last! A hockey game that's not Pittsburg. Below is a complaint I sent in to the AFN customer service:

To: Armed Forces Network:
"I would like to draw your attention to the poor scheduling of hockey. I understand that it must compete with other sports on AFN but it gets very old watching thugs play basketball and a bunch of rednecks running around in circles. NASCAR is not even a sport! It's a circus sideshow like WWE; which you puzzle me by scheduling both on AFN sports. Now let's get to the point of hockey. As a lifelong hockey fan, I cannot fathom why so many of the games AFN broadcasts are of the Pittsburg Penguins. No one cares about Pittsburg! It's a dead market. Please do your homework and carry games that people will WANT to watch. Pittsburg does not even compare to market size and the fan bases of: Toronto, New York, Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Boston, Buffalo, Montreal, and Philadelphia. Please adjust your scheduling to reflect the fans' desires."

Name (mine) witheld.

OK. I take that back. I'm getting the LA feed on AFN.

Wish I could also tap into WXYT but live stream audio is banned on DoD computers.

Anywho, we got hockey in Afghanistan!

I'm not sure what the deal with AFN and Pittsburgh is of late. In the past, they have done a better job of showing several different teams. That being said, let's get the first goal tonight!

It's has to be your area as I can listen to 97.1 on NMCI at work.

Murph can justify it all he wants, weak call. And there's the power play goal.

We got a bad call our way. That's a rarity.

Chiming in a little late but that was no high stick. Maybe interference but the wrong call.

Great PP shift by Modano. Nice shot by Nick. Crazy game so far.

Agree. The score doesn't reflect how the game's been going.

Not sure how much contact Huds made. Guess we'll call that an evener.

That kind of night so far. Part of me says just get this game over with 'cause it's been going too oddly.

You get the sense that fortunes can turn quickly in this game. Yes, just let it end ASAP.

This period has been all Kings. We can't get any sustained pressure in their end. Looks like we're trying to rope-a-dope them.
