I probably won't catch any of the All-Star festivities but I figured I'd kick off a thread for them since we're less than an hour from the draft.
I'll throw out the prediction that the Sedins will be split and Lidstrom will get the available Hurricanes.

The "made for TV" draft was pretty much boring as hell. All the negatives of the actual draft (slow, interrupted by TSN's annoying analysts) and none of the positives (trades, moves with long-lasting implications).
Definitely came across as a bit scripted, with Team Staal getting all of the Hurricanes and both Staal brothers, plus the Sedins being split (as had been discussed for days in the media).
I like Team Lidstrom in a normal game, not sure about an All-Star Game. Might have gone a little too defensive.
I will say the stupid jerseys looked a little better on the players than they did laying flat.

How do you really feel? I agree it looked a little scripted and the clowns from TSN almost made the commentary unbearable.

Was able to catch some of the slap shot and shoot-out competition on AFN. No suprise on Chara winning. What was up with Ovie having to shoot 4 times? Did the chrono break?

Didn't see the game but caught parts of it on the radio. Thought it was funny that Aaron Ward seemed honestly surprised that Patrick Sharp got MVP. Two guys had more points than him, one of whom scored the GWG.
They let players share jersey numbers? I'd hoped they just did it for the draft, when overlap couldn't be predicted. As a geek about that kind of thing, I'm disappointed. It's always fun to see who would switch and what they'd switch to. With Stamkos wearing #91 and Toews wearing #19, it'd be interesting to see what Brad Richards would pick, for example. With Byfuglien wearing #33, would Henrik Sedin go to #66, having been drafted sixth overall (similarly, does Daniel go to #55 with Dan Boyle wearing #22)? Missed opportunity, I'd say.
