Lineup notes...
Mikael Samuelsson is out for the Canucks and Patrick Eaves is out for Detroit. Either Derek Meech or Jonathan Ericsson will move up to a forward spot since the Wings are too close to the cap to call anyone up from Grand Rapids.
Jimmy Howard gets another start, of course.
I don't expect to be around for this one but I'll try to keep an eye on things and check in.

Checking in from some redneck bar in Northville to report that Dan Cleary is out with a groin injury. Tonight is gonna kick ass.
Change in heart?

And while I was typing that Datsyuk scored. That was insane!

Bertuzzi and Datsyuk set a Wings record for fastest two goals scored, surpassing the 7 seconds that teams in 1936 and 1987 produced.
Either I'm missing some other qualifier or that's just wrong.
In Columbus on November 24, 2007, Tomas Holmstrom and Pavel Datsyuk scored five seconds apart, meaning last night's goals tie the record set then.
Some interesting similarities in the sets of goals. Both times Datsyuk scored the second of the pair. Both times it pulled the Wings from a 2-0 deficit into a tie. Both games were decided in overtime (or later).
