Another late night tonight as the Red Wings visit the Anaheim Ducks.
Detroit will be without Niklas Kronwall, as expected, who's out with a mysterious "tweak" suffered last night in San Jose. This puts Jonathan Ericsson back in the lineup after one game as a healthy scratch.
That's the only lineup change for the Wings. Jimmy Howard will be back in net.

Ducks with the lead before I even get my computer up and running. Ugh.
And that Ericsson hit was clean, Bodie had no reason to fight there.

One goal on nearly 50 shots isn't gonna cut it most nights, and it didn't cut it tonight for Detroit. Can't be surprised there.
It was a frustrating game in that the Wings seemed to control play for long stretches but Anaheim got all the bounces. Two goals on deflections, one of which may or may not actually have been legal, and one on a broken play.
In all honesty, this kind of game is one you can't take anything from not because the Wings played poorly but because they played well enough to win and just couldn't get the goals. Detroit played a solid game, I can't complain about that.
On the plus side, the one goal the Wings did score was beautiful. Not that it matters for anything, of course.

I still only believe that a few teams can beat teh wings in a seven game series in the west. They are : Sharks, Ducks, and Blackhawks. Still think its closer than the numbers indicate this season. That being said, Wings might not even make the playoffs they're that inconsistent. Shutout 6 or 7 times, 27 wins, 30 losses. Bright spots are Howard in goal and Lidstrom being solid with +/- being better than everyone on the team while logging most icetime. Franzen coming back soon against the Blues this coming Tuesday hopefully.
