More holiday-related insanity means I have no idea if I'll be catching tonight's game. Kicking this thread off early in case I'm out later.

Jimmy Howard gets the start in net for Detroit. It's pretty safe to say that he's the Wings' #1 goalie right now. I'm not sure he'd get the start in Game One of the playoffs, if there are playoffs for the Wings, but it looks a lot like 2008 to me with Howard playing the Osgood role while Osgood himself plays Hasek.

In a slightly-surprising move, Ville Leino will be a healthy scratch and Mattias Ritola will play. It's intended to be a wake-up call for Leino, as Mike Babcock is essentially telling him "You're not playing well enough to see the ice even on a team decimated by injuries."

Actually, as the Latin root of "decimate" relates to killing off one-tenth of a group, this Detroit team that is missing seven players (roughly 1/3 of the lineup) is worse than decimated. Anyone have a word for that? Triamate?

How in the f*ck did we get shutout by one of the worst temas in the league? I was not able to see the game due to the VS. DirecTv p*ssing contest however, I did see the highlights on the NHL Network. Can this year get any worse? Can we get Sevie and Shanny to make a guest appearance in the locker room? WTF????
