The Red Wings head to Dallas for an afternoon matchup against the Stars today. It's the first true afternoon game of the season, with the Sweden games having been night games for the teams but afternoon games for us fans back home, and we know how I feel about afternoon hockey.

Darren Helm returns to the Detroit lineup today. Depending on how you want to think about it, he either replaces the now-injured Henrik Zetterberg or he slides back into his old spot and Kris Newbury shifts over to replace Zata. I prefer not to think about it at all.

Jimmy Howard gets yet another start in net for the Wings, with Chris Osgood set to go tomorrow against Chicago. Marty Turco gets the nod for the Stars.

Remember how I hate afternoon games 'cause I need to get stuff done in the afternoon? I missed the first two periods out Christmas shopping.

I walk into Pier One and we're tied, 1-1. Walk out and it's the end of the second, tied 3-3. WTF did I miss?

I only saw bits and pieces of the game because of making cookies. But when I wasn't covered in flour and dough, it was a decent game. Nice to see Datsyuk get a goal! I figured he would though, cause it seems like he always scores on Turco.

I think I need to make myself a Bertuzzi signature, because he is seriously badass.
