Seems like the obvious choice, not much of a surprise. I think the players will respect him and play hard for him.

It's been rumored for awhile (actually, it's still only a report, nothing official announced) but it's still a little surprising I think. IIRC, it's been a long time since they went with someone outside the "old guard" of Canadian coaches. This is the most logical choice but logic doesn't always mean much.

i cannot see how Canada is not a lock for gold in Vancouver i mean home ice the talent level as alway's will be outstanding and Hitchcock and LeMaire assisting they may run the table

Here's how they're not a lock: Sweden.

I think team USA is going to surprise a few people in Vancouver. Do I think they will win the gold? Probably not, but I think they are going to be much better contenders this time around.

i don't think the US will be pushover's but i just don't see them having the depth of Sweden,Canada,Russia,Czech Republic,Finland to make it to the medal round. They will have some good showing's 2014 they could potentially be there with some of the young up and coming kid's but hey then again the Lake Placid team didn't stand a snow ball's chance in hell and look at how that turned out should be a fun tourney to watch

I know Stevie has a grand plan for team Canada at the 2010 olympics however, at what point do you determine an overkill behind the bench? Too much talent working that close together can be counterproductive.
