Tomas Holmstrom will return to the Red Wings lineup tonight as Detroit hosts the Phoenix Coyotes but another Wing replaces him on long-term injured reserve.

Detroit placed defenseman Andreas Lilja on LTIR retroactive to February 28, when he suffered a concussion in a fight with Nashville's Shea Weber. Lilja will miss a minimum of 10 games and 24 days, making him uneligible to return before March 27.

With the move, the Red Wings will be able to keep Jonathan Ericsson in the lineup. Had Lilja not been placed on LTIR, Ericsson would have been sent back to the Grand Rapids Griffins with Holmstrom's return.

YAY it will be a huge help to have him back Lilja is a loss but luckily the blueline is deep for us and it should give young Jon Ericsson a chance to show what he's got. As well i'm going to my first Wings game thursday against Calgary i've been a fan my whole life and i'm 31 so i'm hyped could anyone tell me some good places to park or what the prices are to park at different spots after tix it didn't leave me a whole lotta cash left over GO WINGS!!

:welcome:

Congrats on getting a chance to get out to the Joe. The cheapest ways I know of to park for a Wings game are both free but require a little work. If you get there early enough you can take Rosa Parks down to Jefferson and park at the side of the road. I've only done that once and I wasn't driving. The other option I like is to park at Greektown Casino, get your parking validated at the casino, then take the People Mover over to the arena. Parking at the arena itself is a small fortune, I can't even remember what it costs now.

Agreed that the Wings can recover from losing Lilja for awhile. Ericsson would be a regular in any other team's lineup. Chelios is still strong on the PK. Lilja's had a surprisingly good season so I actually see this as a loss, just one the team can handle.

I just remembered! Remember when we were talking about Schneider getting traded to the Habs? (They were talking about them, so I was reminded of Schneider) anyways. I kept saying how I wanted to see him in a game, you said they had already played the Thrashers so many times, blah, blah, blah. Next Friday is Dr. Fil's birthday and they are playing the Thrashers. Now that was the reason why I was disappointed, it was just too far ahead to think of why?

I'm excited for tonight's game! I'm definitely thinking the Wings will do a lot better than the last game, but I don't want to get cocky, either.

I guess I'll have to wear his jersey to the game then, that's the second of my three games two weeks.

That was beautiful <3 (in my opinion).

Dr. Fil is my favorite person ever. 1-0 Wings.

Caught the Fil goal on the radio, nice to see him putting 'em in the net again. Looks like he's got some confidence back.

Once again the Wings do two things wrong and it combines to be a goal. Conklin fell onto his side, if he stays upright he stays square to the shooter and that never goes in. If any of the defenders clears the crease, the rebound chance never happens and it doesn't go in.

That was a good effort right there. Wow, this game is a lot faster! Those ten minutes just whirred by.

Flipped back to the game coming back from intermission after the penalty, as soon as I saw it was on Holmstrom I knew it was goalie interference. Good call? Bad call?

Went back and looked at the Homer penalty... Not happy about it, Bryzgalov was out of the crease, but I can see why it was called.

Awful call, I respect the need to protect players on icing but that was a soft hit.
