Aaron Downey returns to the Red Wings lineup tonight as Detroit hosts the Dallas Stars. Downey has spent the entire season thus far with the Grand Rapids Griffins but was called up with Ville Leino today when Brad Stuart was placed on the long-term IR.

Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom also return to the ice, having served their suspensions.

The Wings will be without Henrik Zetterberg, whose back spasms have continued. Downey takes his spot in the lineup instead of Derek Meech being shifted to forward again. Meech joins Leino as a healthy scratch.

Chris Osgood gets another start in the Detroit net.

Marty Turco will go for Dallas, who will be without Mark Parrish (flu) and Fabian Brunnstrom (AHL conditioning stint) in addition to long-term injuries Brenden Morrow and Sergei Zubov.

I'll be missing the start of this one as I've got another 7:30 soccer game. I'll catch up when I get back.

I won't be saying much cause I've been sick and I'm not really feeling good (obviously).

Dallas just got the lead with a power play goal. 1-0

Dallas scores on the powerplay. Shot by Richards, hit Ott or Lidstrom, not sure.

What happens when a winger takes a faceoff.....the Stars score off the faceoff. This period is going sh*t.

Osgood is out, let's hope for the better.

Looks like you got it covered, haha, not that this is a life/death situation. I'm out, probably till the end.

Oh god, another one. Nice play by Eriksson, Conklin was totally fooled. This is painful to watch.

Some crunching hits going in here. It's almost like a playoff game.

What the christ have I been missing? Three Dallas PPGs, two goals for Detroit called back? O'Halloran can blow me.

Goal ruled out for interference by Holmstrom. But Turco tried to trip him, then he was pushed into Turco. Now Datsyuk's getting stuck in. What a period.

Well the first ruled out goal was the right call. The puck never crossed the line, the end of Franzen's stick did, and looked like it was the puck.

O'Halloran can still blow me for the second one and for being unwilling to talk to Babs at the end of the period. No respect.

The game just seems to be petering out, which is a shame, after that great 2nd period. The Stars' forecheck has stopped any sort of momentum from building.

Red Wings play like crap with key players injured and a goal incorrectly called back on a bad call against Holmstrom. Must be the middle of winter.

I've got nothing else.
