A little early to kick things off for a 10:30 start but I already mentioned being sick and I'm afraid that if I don't do it now I might forget to do it at all.

The Red Wings have a series of lineup changes coming up for tonight's matchup with the Kings, as Ty Conklin, Chris Chelios and Kirk Maltby all get into the game.

Conklin backed up Chris Osgood in Anaheim last night but Maltby and Chelios were both healthy scratches. Chelios replaces Brett Lebda on the blue line and Maltby retakes his spot on the fourth forward unit after Meech had it last night.

Lebda did not play for the final 27:42 in Anaheim, replaced by Meech after the latter returned from an injury. It would appear that he is either injured or in coach Mike Babcock's dog house.

The game hasn't even started yet and Valtteri Filppula is in the lead for player of the game and I have a two hour delay for school tomorrow! :)

Now that, my friends, is bedazzling. A work of God, you might say. NOW IT'S WIN TIME!

I swear those numbers were made up. Filppula at 59% and the other two guys were at 29% and 12%. By my math, that's 100% total. Since those aren't even numbers, it means that at least 100 people have to have voted and all 100 voted for only one of those three players. I call shenanigans.

But good shenanigans! Well, I suppose he shouldn't really be in the lead, seeing how he hasn't done much.

It makes me angry they start voting before the game in the first place. No one predicts the future, so who knows who the player of the game will really be? It's usually just a popularity contest at first. But I probably just stated the obvious.

Fourth line goal and some p*ssed off Kings, I'll take it. Babcock's plan must have been to keep Maltby fresh. :D

Mule on a set of great passes. As Mickey would say, "Kids, that's why you keep your stick on the ice."

It's hard to not say something ridiculous when using that phrase unless you are actually talking about Mastodons. You might be able to pull it off with a woolly Mammoth, though.

And now it's two nothing! :D Awesome.

One period down... I say that score is good enough, lets go through the next two periods with no whistles, I've gotta try to go to work in the morning.

Unpopular opinion... That was a hit to the shoulder, not from behind.

Hudler gives it to Samuelsson to make it 3 zip :D

I'm not quite sure they have a mastodonic lead yet.

I keep forgetting it's only the second period. Ay chihuahua. I hate the California games.

Wings get a four minute powerplay.

And the Wings hold on for the shutout. Not bad for the second game in a row.
