Well, this has been frequently asked on other sites, and since there are many different ages on here, I would like to know who everyone's favourite band is!

My favourite bands / artists (for I have many, as sure as most do) are Aubrey Haynie, Nickel Creek, The Beatles, Del McCoury, The Monkees, David Peterson & 1946, Pilot Speed, Coldplay and Vladimir Visotsky.

I'm going to have to say my all-time favourite band is Mobile, which I found out about through NHL '07 and it's lovely soundtrack.

So, favourite bands / artists and possibly the reason why you like them?

I think the Foo Fighters have ascended into the top slot as my favorite band with the demise of Caroline's Spine. Most of the music I like is from the '90s (STP, Bush, Pumpkins) or some of the '70s influences of those bands (Zeppelin and Aerosmith).

It almost pains me to say it but of the new stuff I'm really liking Fall Out Boy. I can't decide if they're good or just interesting, or if I care which they are.

I've also got a thing for movie scores. The Iron Man score is in my car right now, it's absolutely fantastic. I can't remember the guy who did it but it came out of Hans Zimmer's company and he's been dead on for the last several years.

Me too! I love Disney soundtracks, especially. :) My all-time favourite movie soundtrack is Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain by Yann Tiersen.

Haha at the Fall Out Boy comments. XD They were cool until they hit MTv, for me. :) But that's just me.

I forgot another band I love to death, Lovedrug! They are pretty amazing, well, not so much their newer stuff.

I'm 19 but have the music taste of of a 39 year old. I generally don't really like any music made after the year 2000, apart from a few exceptions. My favourite bands are Dire Straits, New Order, The Smiths (although I own a lot more of Morrissey's solo stuff), James, the Lightning seeds and The Clash. I do occasionally like to listen to a bit of Metallica though, when I'm in the mood.

At least you don't like the music of people in their 60's :) That's all I hang out with anymore basically, is old timers at fiddle contests and jam sessions. But at least they're sweethearts.

Fave bands, eh? That's tough- I like all sorts of music...

I'd have to say Thrice is probably my current number 1. Their Alchemy Index albums were freaking crazy, and I've held a spot in my heart for Vheissu and The Artist in the Ambulance, which were both amazing albums.

Linkin Park (pre-MtM/radio whoring movement). Meteora and Hybrid Theory were awesome. Also have an affinity for Blue October, Airbourne, Foo Fighters (what is foo and how do they fight it?) and Anberlin.

Recently rediscovered my love for the Smashing Pumpkins thanks to the trailer for Watchmen. Look it up if you haven't seen it, the trailer's amazing and it's a great use for The Beginning is the End is the Beginning. That, and the discovery of Glass and the Machines of God. Again, look it up, amazing stuff, but woefully cut short (to me, anyways).

I'm mainly what people consider a strange one in tastes for music. Then again, just about anything non-mainstream to my friends scares them. It's pretty funny to me. Now if I could introduce them to my roommate (who hates mainstream and commercialized music), I think that's worth the price of admission. He tolerates my stuff fine though, since you hardly hear it on the radio.

Currently spinning some old Unwritten Law, new Shinedown stuff, Daft Punk and some classic Fleetwood Mac.

On a oldies note, I do love me some Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, and a little bit of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

That trailer is fantastic in every way. The End is the Beginning is the End is one of my favorite Pumpkins songs but The Beginning is the End is the Beginning fits so amazingly well there. It fits the whole world of The Watchmen. Darker, slower, dirtier.

I love the way the music was cut for that trailer. So amazing. Frankly, I can't wait to see it. March is a long ways off...

Yeah, I forgot a few artists...

I kinda like Kings of Leon, Tokyo Police Club, Train and Sparta.

Speaking of Metallica...Britwings, what do you think of Death Magnetic? People say that the master tracks are ridiculously pushed up in volume so there's little or no difference in the dynamics.

See for yourself.

Funny, we were just talking about them at work today. A co-worker saw them last night in GR and was really impressed and I had seen them last summer at DTE.

Well I'm not really a big fan, I just listen to them occasionally (I only own about 5 of their songs - my favourite's Enter Sandman) so I don't really know.
And I forgot to add David Bowie and the Stone Roses before.

I see Sick Puppies just about every time they come to GR. I've met them a couple times. The bass guitar player is a girl--and she's hot! :)

I haven't been able to get this song out of my head for the last few days. Enjoy!

Hello... I do enjoy some cool music such as "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits, "Californication and Dani Californication" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.... :)
