Zetterberg is expected to be out again tonight (no confirmation as far as I can tell) and there's no word on whether or not Stuart will miss time after he was hurt blocking a shot against Vancouver. The Wings won't have to call anyone up to replace him if he's out as Derek Meech could see his first action of the season.

I might miss this one, I've got tentative plans tonight.

Rangerland also has their gameday thread open for anyone who wants to go start trouble. :suspect:

Derek Meech will replace Brad Stuart in the Red Wings lineup tonight, according to Mlive's Ansar Khan.

Stuart did not take the morning skate, opting to rest his bruised knee. He's expected to return next Wednesday when Detroit visits the St. Louis Blues.

This will mark Meech's first game of the season. He will play in Stuart's spot alongside Niklas Kronwall.

One other change for the game against the New York Rangers will be Dan Cleary donning a visor to protect an irritated left eye. Cleary says that if he can get used to the visor he will keep it on permanently.

I've got plans for tonight as well, but I'll probably be back in time for the game, I don't know.

Meech! Holy sh*t! First shift of the season, first shot of the season, and Meech blasts a shot deflected by Sammy and in.

JMF Franzen!

Lundqvist looks awful, no reason for that rebound.

Lundqvist with a nice stop there, hope that doesn't mean he's getting more comfortable.

This could be a messy game, Callahan never should have been that open.

Game's really slowing down. Seems like both teams might be content to ride out the first and regroup at intermission.

I don't think either team is happy after the first. Detroit got on the board quick but still looked sloppy. The Rangers were sloppy to start but got a little better as the period went on. No real sustained pressure for either team, New York had one shift where they kept the puck in for awhile but no solid chances on it.

Meech probably could have been called for taking down Voros.

Hossa with the glorious chance stopped.

Looks like he gets an assist! Redirected goal!

Sammy so close. I thought Lundqvist got more of that but the replay shows Sammy got a better shot off than I had thought.

Ugh, another wide open Ranger in a faceoff circle. Defense sucks tonight.

Well that lead didn't last long. Dawes levels it up.

Has there been any replay of the Hossa interference call? I'd have liked to see it.

Are the Rangers still 100% on the PK? Let's change that, get something going.
