Opening this thread up a day early 'cause the Wings won the last couple times I did that. Time to break out all the superstitions to help make sure the Flames don't even things up.

The buzz for this game seems to be about whether or not Bertuzzi will get bumped up to the second line with Robert Lang and Kyle Calder. GorillaCrouch has a bit on that, as does the News.

If I'm Babcock, I take Samuelsson out, bump up Bertuzzi, and put Hudler back in. Sorry catmandu, I know Sammy's your favorite, but he hasn't been getting it done.

Random stat: The last time the Red Wings took a 3-1 lead in a series was the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals, when they beat the Hurricanes 3-0 in Carolina in Game Four.

The last time they lost to leave a series tied at two was in 2004 against Nashville, when the Predators blanked Detroit 3-0 to come back from being two games down. The Red Wings would go on to win that series, 4-2.

Detroit should be ridiculously happy to be tied right now. The line juggling seems to be working so far.

Kipper seemed human on the Franzen goal, Wings need to get shots on net.

It's absolutely sickening that in an age where I can go back to video and point out two awful calls that directly led to Calgary goals, biased officiating still happens. Yeah, I said biased. Is there any other explanation? Where are the marginal calls on Calgary? You'd think if it was just bad calls, they'd go both ways, but the Flames have had two undeserved long five-on-threes and the Wings have had none.

It's always seen as making excuses if you blame the refs but this game is not supposed to be such that you have to beat both the other team and the refs.

This sucks, the game is being controlled by the refs for the Canadien audience. I have seen so many illegal plays by the Flames, not to mention the Offside calls that are being ignored!

I like the big guy getting p*ssed now! Bertuzzi should whip some asses tonight.

I'll just sum it up by saying this. Calgary is beating the Detroit Red Wings. They are winning the scrums. They are putting more people in front of Hasek. The Wings on the other hand are NOT putting people in front Kiprusoff. How many times has Schneider and Lidstrom fired the puck in, and there were no Wing in front of Kiprusoff. Shall I mention the POWER PLAY ... The Wings have had NONE. The Wings power play, which has been sick for weeks now, is/has been a huge problem. If the WINGS lose the series, it will be the REASON why they do. Making their PP an even bigger problem is Calgary's PK AND their PP. NAH.... bitch all you want about the REFS ... Its the WINGS allowing Calgary to beat them. I don't care how much BABCOCK jockeys the lines .... if the WINGS aren't up to taking back the series, its over with.

Babcock just bitched about the refs more than I've ever seen him do. Wow.

He said something I was going to mention but was too p*ssed off to, the Wings really did control the play pretty well in the second period when they weren't killing off ridiculous penalties. I added the second part, he didn't call them ridiculous, but that would have been cool.

OK ... WINGS 0 for 5, Calgary 2 for 5 .... The Wings just p*ssed another PP away. Couldn't get anything generated. Lost a key face-off in Flame end ..... I rest my case ....

Well, yeah the Wings need to do this and do that, but how is it possible for the emotion of a team to move forward when you aren't getting a square shake. It's like you at work, if someone is p*ssing you off and continues to get favor over you, how well do you concentrate about your job?

I have to agree with Mickey .... He's said it 3-4 times tonight, in reference to the WINGS Power Play ... "No WINGS in front of the net" ..... "Its hard to score from the point, when there are NO wings in front of the net to put pressure on Kiprusoff." I rest my case again.

Dude, where have you been? I commented on that after the second game...go look. We were weak then, and nothing has changed, but the Wings need to get better 5 on 5 ref calls. Come on, I like that you want the Wings to play tougher, sh*t, so do I, but where is the even calls from the League. It makes me feel like I'm getting ripped off for such a good year!! Damn it!!
