Opening Night - who cares?

Yzerman Night - Who's he? B)

The biggest Wings game this year takes place tomorrow when my beloved Montreal Canadiens visit the Joe for what seems like the first time in 47 years. It really is a shame that the Wings don't play Original Six teams more, but Master Bettman like it that way.

Both teams really need the points as the Wings try to catch Nashville and the entire Eastern Conference seems to be catching up with the Habs.

I hope my boys have put yesterday's drubbing behind them and that we're able to see a good game.

Go Habs Go!

Hmmm... Second half of the season premiere of "24" or the Wings and Habs? Sorry, Kiefer, you're getting DVR'd. B)

Great shot by Hudler. Didn't seem especially hard but well timed and placed.

Catmandu can back me up, I called Datsyuk's goal. Great move getting into the zone and a shot that Aebischer probably should have had.

Now that I've caught my DVR'd episodes of "24" I can check back in with thoughts on the game...

Pretty good defensive matchup. Abby probably wants Datsyuk's goal back but it wouldn't have mattered. The Versus guys seemed to be lamenting that it wasn't a high-scoring affair. Too bad for them.

That was an amazing shot by by datsyuk. i dont think that i have seen a better shot. I wa sohwever disapointed that the sabres lost to the bruins. Miller had an amazing game some awsome saves. Just a shame to see them lose 3 in a row. Ow well that leaves more room for detroit to win

Finally got the internet working in the room so we were able to "listen live" I really wanted to see it live, but as always I will take the two points and the W. This also puts Dom and Nick back in the lead for GAA and +/-

So is Hasek back to being a beloved Wing?
I remember at the start of the year people bitching and moaning he was coming back.

When he plays, he is one of the best.

Shutting out my habs as well... never did like him.. goes way back to the sabres..

Grats Wings!! ^%#&#

Let's hope the Habs can rebound vs Vancouver tonight

Heh, even when he's playing well, I wouldn't call Hasek "beloved." Definitely more of a "damn straight, you'd better not screw this up" attitude towards him.

I was quiet by necessity...too drunk when I got back from game, too hungover this morning, now I'm feeling human again.

Lousy game, took two hours to get through friggin customs (last time I take tunnel bus), missed first period, Habs were lifeless, lost at poker after the game. But still managed to have a great night.

Not much smack to talk after blowout, then a shutout. Maybe time to shake things up?

But at least the Rockies won B)

I complain about the commute in from Lansing for weeknight games, adding in a border crossing would absolutely suck.

"Lifeless" seems a good way to describe Montreal last night. They didn't seem to play too poorly, just without any jump.
